Judging Panel Selected for boats.com European Marine Web Awards
Now in its second year, the prestigious "boats.com European Marine Industry web site of the year awards" has already received in excess of 25 nominations.
Now in its second year, the prestigious "boats.com European Marine Industry web site of the year awards" has already received in excess of 25 nominations. This is particularly significant as this impressive figure has been achieved before the official start date at the Southampton Boat Show.
Boats.com are proud to announce the prominant committee of judges this year, who collectively boast well-established marine and web industry experience and intensive knowledge of their specialist professions. The panel of six judges is listed below, along with the contributions they will bring to the panel:
- Miles Mendoza, BBC Radio 2`s Steve Wright in the Afternoon`s resident web wallah, (Web Site of the Day presenter!) Miles has seen his fair share of websites as he seeks out the most useful and entertaining sites and discusses them on-air.
- Dr. Ian Sealy, Senior Technical Research at the University of Bristol and Lecturer for the University of London's Birkbeck College (Diploma in Web Design and Development.)
- Richard Clark, Editor of Web User Magazine. Richard looks forward to using his expertise in both websites and communication to judge this years' nominations.
- Kim Hollamby, Group Editor of IBI.com and YBW.com. As a leading name in the marine journalism field, Kim will have an interesting outlook on the marine content of the nominated websites.
- Ian Burton, Web Site Designer, Expert and Trainer. Ian runs a software engineering company and understands the background of how a website is created and constructed. He is sure to provide a deeper understanding of the websites nominated for these awards.
- Ian Atkins, as Managing Director of Boats.com, Ian boasts extensive knowledge of the marine and internet industry.
Several influential marine industry companies have already submitted their nominations; such as Wally Yachts, Marine Power, Sunsail and Ancasta; all leaders in their respective fields. Even more nominations are expected over the Southampton Boat Show period, and therefore boats.com are asking for nominations as soon as possible to allow time for scrutiny.
Nominations can be delivered by completing the application form on the boats.com web site. The strict closing date for entries will be 1700 hrs on October 31st 2003. Boats.com look forward to presenting the awards at a central feature of the 2004 Schroders London Boat Show.
